Gordie Delaney was born in Seattle, WA to an aeronautical engineer father and a librarian mother.  As a child they relocated to the East Bay in California.  After high school, Gordie attended Los Medanos College and Manhattan School of Music studying voice, jazz guitar, and arranging.  After gigging around the San Francisco, Bay Area for years and marrying a fellow voice student they relocated to central Virginia.  Now residing in beautiful Charlottesville, VA, Gordie performs throughout central Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley. Influenced by John Pizzarelli, Jack Wilkins, Bruce Forman, Mike Stern, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and Michael Buble.  His love for songs from the Great American Songbook began with an appreciation for jazz standards as instrumentals, but fell in love with the lyrics from a bygone era of a simpler time.
